Volunteers wanted for People Care Assocation Xmas Dinner
The Southwark People Care Association are calling for people to volunteer at their annual Christmas dinner for elderly and socially isolated people on 25 December.
Every year the Southwark People Care Association raise funds to provide a festive Christmas dinner for elderly people, who would otherwise spend Christmas Day by themselves.
This year’s Christmas Party will be held in the large Sports Hall at Bacon’s College, Timber Pond Road, Rotherhithe, SE16 6AT.
Volunteering at the party will give you a good opportunity to spend Christmas Day with residents who really appreciate your company and generosity in giving up your time for them. It is also a rewarding experience to put a smile on the faces of people who would otherwise spend what is meant to be one of the most joyful days of the year alone.
Being a volunteer at the party is also a great experience to put on your CV.
Prem Goyal, Management Team Member for the Southwark People Care Association, said: “Every year, we rely on the goodwill of dozens of generous individuals from Southwark and beyond to lend a helpingn hand in administrating the event. Without them, hosting this event would not be possible.
“Having volunteered at the Christmas Party for the last five years, I can honestly say there is no better feeling than providing some festive cheer for the borough’s most socially isolated residents. I greatly encourage anyone who can lend a hand for even 1-2 hours to do so.”
