Godson rouses support at campaign event
Over 30 supporters of Godson Azu, APP London Assembly candidate for Enfield and Haringey, attended a campaign event at the Liberty Church Hall in Haringey on Saturday 23 April. APP’s City & East London Assembly candidate Aaron D’Souza and Roding Ward by-election candidate, Marilyn Moore also attended.
The evening began with a talk from Dr. Segun Johnson, who explained the role of the Greater London Assembly and what Assembly Members do for Londoners.
Aaron then spoke about how APP is creating opportunities for talented minorities and young people to become political candidates to unleash their potential. He urged everyone to tell their friends and family to support talented leaders like Godson.
Godson then took to the stage to participate in a Q&A session. He emphasised the housing problems in Enfield and Haringey and pledged to fight for 32,000 affordable homes each year for Londoners. In particular, Godson’s pledge to introduce a two consecutive terms limit for Assembly Members received a round of applause from the audience.
Later on in the event, the MC for the evening, Priscilla Nwikpo from BENTV, pledged her support for Godson and spoke to everyone about the Stronger in Europe campaign.
Everyone at the event pledged their support to Godson and said they would encourage others to vote for him on Thursday 5 May.
Well done to Godson for organising this wonderful event.
