Dorcas Fayemi receives Southwark Award

Dorcas Fayemi, the founder of IBA Charity, received a Southwark Award last week. Dorcas was presented the 2015 GMC Community Champion Award by Amadu Kanumansa during a community function attended by 50 people held at her IBA Charity premises on Vestry Road.

Dorcas’ IBA Charity provides educational and leisure opportunities for young people in Southwark, Lewisham and Lambeth including disabled people, their carers and families, and support for older people. Amadu praised Dorcas’ 17 years of work helping raise the quality of life for young people and senior citizens in Southwark.

On receiving her award, Dorcas said, “I’m thrilled to receive this award. I will cherish it.”
