£2,000 raised for Southwark Mayor’s Common Good Trust

Common Good Trust 2016

Former Mayor of Southwark Althea Smith helped raise over £2,000 for the Mayor of Southwark’s Common Good Trust with a St. Georges Day Luncheon on Friday 22 April.

An incredible 300 guests attended the event, which was held at The Den football ground in Bermondsey, to celebrate St. George’s Day and play their part in raising money for the charity, which assists needy and vulnerable people in Southwark.

On top of the lunch, there was also raffles and auctions at the event, where many of the guests participated and contributed as much as possible to raise money for the Common Good Trust.

Althea Smith, Trustee of the Common Good Trust, said: “I wish to thank everyone that attended the St. George’s Day Luncheon. Their contributions will go a long way to help people plighted by poverty in Southwark.”

Thank you to Althea and the whole team of Trustees for organising this wonderful event.
